Dumpling is here! I typed this up while in the hospital so I didn’t forget anything. I hope it makes sense. Late night nursing sessions have you going delirious sometimes.
I had contractions all day Monday, but I felt they weren’t strong enough to go to the hospital. I didn’t want the contractions to stall and be sent home or end up being induced. Tuesday, I didn’t have any consistent contractions. Maybe two or three an hour. We went about our day and took Tot to soccer practice.
Around 1am, my contractions started to pick up and I started to repack my hospital bag. I had packed and unpacked that bag so many times since my doctor had spoken numerous times about inducing me. I didn’t think they were strong enough to even bother with the hospital. Around 2:30am, I woke up A to drive to the hospital. He wanted to drive all the way to the hospital I was registered at, but by the time we actually left at 3, I said we should go to the closest hospital. We got to the ER at 3:15, got registered and made our way to labor and delivery. Once we got in the room, I got checked and was at an 8. Had a contraction, felt like I needed to push, and got checked again. I was at a 9. Had my water broken, pushed twice and Dumpling was born! Dumpling is a girl!
She was placed on my chest while we delayed the cord cutting. A got to cut the cord. They delivered my placenta. I got to see her before they had to check her. I started to have issues with bleeding and blood clots. I started to hemorrhage. They had to call back in the doctor.
Little Miss Dumpling was born on 8/8/18. She weighed 6 lb 15 oz and is 19 inches long. She was born sunny side up, fast and furious. She is so deeply loved by her siblings and they are loving having her home with us.
